Jewelry and Metalsmithing at College of DuPage

About

Investigating objects and their meaning has been a fascinating area of research for me.  Trained as a metalsmith, jeweler and artist, I am particularly interested in personal ornament.  Social history is amazingly rich when one looks at choices that jewelers have made throughout the millennia.  Not only do I have extensive knowledge of the history of objects for adornment, I have the unique experience of knowing intimately the techniques used to make these objects.  I have been a Professor of Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design at the College of DuPage since 1994 having received degrees at Miami University, Oxford, OH and Indiana University, Bloomington.
